Staff Accountant
Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant will work across tax, audit, and advisory engagements under the guidance of senior professionals. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional who is looking to grow within a dynamic public accounting firm. Staff Accountants contribute to tax preparation, audit fieldwork, client bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and general advisory support.
This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a variety of service areas and industries while building a foundation for CPA licensure and long-term growth within the firm.

Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Assist in the preparation of compiled or reviewed financial statements.
- Conduct audit fieldwork, including walkthroughs, substantive testing, and analytical procedures under supervision.
- Perform monthly and year-end client write-up and bookkeeping tasks.
- Handle assigned special client tasks (e.g., licensing renewals, compliance filings).
- Conduct technical and tax-related research, summarize findings, and discuss with supervisors.
- Accurately track time and work progress in firm systems to meet project budgets and deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or near completion); intent to pursue CPA license required.
- Foundational understanding of GAAP and U.S. tax regulations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to quickly learn accounting/tax software.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- A positive, self-starting attitude with a willingness to work through challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Internship or prior experience in a public accounting firm or finance/accounting environment.
- Familiarity with tax preparation software and/or audit tools.
- QuickBooks knowledge and general ledger experience.
Success Measures:
- Timely and accurate completion of assignments.
- Positive evaluations from supervisors and/or clients.
- Growth in technical skills and ownership of assigned tasks.
- Demonstrated progress toward CPA exam completion.
Work Environment:
Staff Accountants may work on-site, remotely, or in a hybrid setting, depending on firm policy and client needs. Engagements may involve direct client communication, team collaboration, and occasional travel to client sites.
