AUBURN, AL (Jan. 4, 2016) – Machen McChesney, one of the region’s leading CPA and business advisory firms, announces the acquisition of Wolf & Taunton, a Montgomery, Alabama-based accounting firm. The acquisition became effective Dec. 1, 2015.
With a 60-year history of Returning Value to the clients and communities it serves, Auburn-Opelika-based Machen McChesney made the acquisition in recognition of the growing needs of its client base.
“This opportunity presented itself through our relationships with Marcus Wolf, an alumnus of Auburn University, and Bobby Taunton, an alumnus of both Auburn High School and Auburn University,” said Machen McChesney’s Managing Partner, Marty Williams. “It was encouraging to further determine that their firm and employees share the same values we do when it comes to Returning Value through outstanding client service, top-notch services and a commitment to community. Wolf & Taunton began offering professional services in Montgomery in 1987. The firm was formed by Marcus Wolf, who recently retired. Bobby Taunton will continue to head the Montgomery office,
